Based on the safety regulations for isolation devices in universal energy high-voltage systems, the conventional 8-pin wide-body SOIC package and 16-pin wide-body SOIC package can no longer fulfill the requirements.Then Chipanalog has introduced 8-pin and 16-pin ultra-wide body packages, with the package body width of 14mm and an electrical clearance and creepage distance of 15mm.
