The new SBCSOM combines the advantages of the two product worlds of Single Board Computer (SBC) and System on Module (SOM) by joining the uniform structure of an SBC with the modular possibilities of an SOM into one product. For this purpose, basic components and interfaces are added to a processor module. It is thus ready for immediate use without an additional baseboard, but still modular enough to be easily expanded. Depending on the requirements, this can save time and costs in development, testing and production.
