Coin cell supercapacitors are a type of electrochemical energy storage device in a compact and high-capacity form factor that can store and release electrical energy quickly. Coin cell supercapacitors have a number of advantages over conventional batteries, including a high power density, a long cycle life, and a fast charge and discharge rate. They are used in a variety of applications, including backup power supplies, electronic devices, renewable energy systems and medical devices. They are most commonly used for real time clock back up, but also memory back up, battery swap ride through and LED or audible alarms. Eaton's KR, KV and KW families are available in cylindrical style, horizontal mount, and vertical mount for systems up to 5.5 V and capacitance values from 0.1 F to 1.5 F.
Eaton is a world leading power management company providing energy-efficient solutions to enable effectively management of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power systems, safely and sustainably.
