New Brushless DC motor control SoC microcontrollers, the BD66FM6445A and BD66FM6452A. These new devices have integrated an MCU, an LDO, a three-phase 36V P/N gate-driver, a VDC bus voltage detection and a zero standby power circuit as well as many other functions. These features combine to reduce the number of required application external components resulting in lower product costs. When the devices are used in their zero standby power mode, the current consumption is only 2μA. These features make the devices suitable for use in lithium batteries or products with very small PCBA requirements. The BD66FM6452A further integrates a charging function which contains an OPA inverting amplifier, a ±1% reference voltage source and supporting hardware UL certification functions to implement both lithium battery charging and motor driving functions, namely a two-in-one solution. This device is very suitable for use in products such as muscle fascial massagers and small power tools as well as many others.
The devices include 4K×16/8K×16 of Flash Program Memory, 512×8/2K×8 of RAM Data Memory and an operating frequency of up to 20MHz. An 11/9-channel 12-bit A/D converter is included along with two 16-bit timers, two 10-bit timers and a high-speed UART. The BLDC motor control circuit includes a 16-bit speed monitoring timer, three channel 10-bit complementary PWM outputs which include a dead-time function as well as a hardware rapid shutdown PWM protection mechanism.
