New tinyAVR Microcontrollers Released to Production

The ATtiny3217 is the lead device in the tinyAVR 1-series. Ideal for sensor nodes applications, the ATtiny3217 features two 10-bit Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) which provides accurate and timely analog signal acquisitions. The ATtiny3217 comes in a 4 mm x 4 mm 24-pin VQFN package, and will be available in two temperature grades, 105°C and 125°C. Following shortly, the ATtiny3216 in SOIC 20-pin package will be available. The ATtiny3217 and ATtiny3216 products are similar to the already available ATtiny1617 and ATtiny1616, but with more memory.


  • 32KB In-system self-programmable Flash memory
  • 2KB SRAM
  • 256B EEPROM
  • Two single-ended 10-bit ADC with up to 20-channels and a sampling rate of 115 ksps
  • Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC)
  • One 16-bit Timer/Counter type A with dedicated period register, 3 compare channels (TCA)
  • One 16-bit Timer/Counter type B with input capture (TCB)
  • One 12-bit Timer/Counter type D for control applications (TCD)
  • One 16-bit Real Time Counter (RTC) running from external crystal or internal RC oscillator
  • One USART with fractional baud rate generator, autobaud, and start-of-frame detection

    – 24-pin VQFN (ATtiny3217)
    – 20-pin SOIC (ATtiny3216)
